Producer and Station Relations Coordinator

We are actively seeking dynamic and diverse team member to join us in the role of Producer and Station Relations Coordinator in Wixom, MI, in a hybrid work structure.
The Producer and Station Relations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing tasks and deliverables for Detroit PBS national production and station relations projects.
Essential Functions
Logistical and Administrative Support:
- Organize contracts and audience release forms.
- Arrange travel and meals for talent, crew and guests.
- Monitor and reconcile project budgets.
- Organize and maintain up-to-date digital storage of final program assets.
- Coordinate ancillary product development, sourcing, ordering and inventory, including books, CDs, DVDs and event tickets.
Production:
- Produce programs, pledge breaks, promos, marketing videos, and digital content.
- Book crew, editors, equipment, facilities, talent, and makeup artists.
- Coordinate program audience and vendors for production purchases and rentals.
- Prepare graphics and artwork with graphic designers.
- Write scripts.
- Supervise studio team, including lighting, set up, production, and media management.
- Prepare technical and creative assets needed for production and edit.
- Log and transcribe media as assigned.
Station Relations, Marketing and Research:
- Partner with internal staff to coordinate all marketing, station relations, press and promotional needs related to production projects.
- Write station relation marketing materials and coordinate outreach to PBS station programmers, pledge producers, and digital content professionals to acquire best possible carriage of DPBS content.
- Provide follow-up support with PBS stations regarding DPBS products.
- Coordinate local and national ticket offers and events associated with fundraising programs; facilitate offers between artists/artist management, talent, touring agencies, venues, promoters, and local PBS stations.
- Compile program and performance research and information as required.
Skills
- Strong video production skills.
- Strong written communication skills; scripting and marketing copy writing.
- Excellent organizational ability with strong attention to details.
- Logistics and project management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent follow up skills.
- Ability to complete tasks within budget and time constraints and prepare necessary reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, communications or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years project management experience in media or similar field.
- 2+ years video production experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work a varied schedule including occasional evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Physical Demands
Individual must be able to:
- Type, and sit behind a desk for extended periods of time.
- Work in the field under a wide range of climate conditions.
- Look at video, computer screens, printed documents.
- Occasional drive on company business.
Work Environment
Individual is exposed to a typical office setting with computer equipment and a TV studio or on-location site with some related business travel both within the US and internationally. Occasional schedule shift between days and evenings and weekends for productions.
