On the next American Black Journal: Detroit Future City releases its annual report on “The State of Economic Equity in Detroit,” which shows a continuing economic opportunity gap for people of color. CEO Anika Goss talks with Stephen about their findings and offers recommendations for providing a path to prosperity for all Detroiters.
Plus, there’s a free, online resource directory available for parents looking for fun, educational and affordable summer programs for their children. Stephen gets the details on the “Discover Your Spark” directory, which highlights over 100 programs that will keep kids engaged and learning over the summer break. Sara Elliott, Executive Director of the Youth Development Resource Center and Tonya Adair, Chief People, Equity & Engagement Officer for United Way for Southeastern Michigan sits down with Stephen to talk about the programs.
