Development Operations Coordinator

We are actively seeking dynamic and diverse team member to join us in the role of Development Operations Coordinator in Wixom, MI, in a hybrid work structure.

The Development Operations Coordinator will provide support functions during and after the Imagine the Possibilities Campaign for 234 Piquette, as well as, philanthropic giving activities across the organization. The ideal candidate is organized, curious and works well in a team setting.

Essential Functions

Capital Campaign Support and Administration (50%)

  • Provide administrative support for capital campaign activities, including gift processing, acknowledgment letters, and assistance with donor communications.
  • Prepare pledge forms, payment reminders and invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate recognition efforts, including donor acknowledgment, naming opportunities, and special events to express gratitude for donor support.
  • Coordinate logistics for campaign-related events, meetings, and presentations, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and materials preparation.
  • Prepare monthly solicitations for Society for Excellence and Kresge Society.
  • Assist with philanthropic donor engagement opportunities as assigned.

Database Management and Reporting (25%):

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the organization’s database, including contact information, giving history, and communication preferences.
  • Generate donor reports out of CRM and under supervision of Campaign Director, prepare regular campaign progress updates for senior leadership, board members, and other stakeholders as needed.

Donor Research and Cultivation (25%):

  • Conduct thorough research to identify prospective donors, corporate partners, and grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s philanthropic giving and capital campaign objectives.
  • Utilize donor databases, wealth screening tools, and other resources to gather information on donor interests, giving capacity, and philanthropic history.

Skills

  • Highly organized and innovative operational mindset.
  • Familiar with philanthropic and campaign fundraising techniques and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of the programming and community priorities of Detroit PBS and 90.9
    WRCJ preferred.
  • Ability to work collegially with others in the organization.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or commensurate experience in Philanthropy, Project Management, Business, Communications, or related field of study or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Development including:
    • Use of fundraising database software to capture donor information, research donor history/interests, and generate actionable lists; knowledge of CRMs a plus.
    • Management of donor gifts and stewardship practices.

Physical Demands

Individual must be able to type and sit behind a desk for extended periods of time.

Work Environment

Individual is exposed to a typical office setting with computer equipment.
