Laura Brandt serves as Senior Vice President of Operations at Detroit PBS where she oversees local production, programming, education, engineering, and digital marketing. Her role also includes serving as an EOS Integrator, working to align all departments and drive the organization in goal setting against the strategic plan.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Laura began her career at Detroit PBS in 2006 as an intern, advancing from a coordinator to her most recent position as a member of the station’s leadership team.

Laura’s time at Detroit PBS includes leading the development of the station’s web streaming production format, combining new and traditional media into a digital platform for programming. She launched the successful Live from Orchestra Hall webcast series in partnership with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and produced over 150 live concerts; Manages Detroit PBS’s Mackinac Policy Conference coverage; and served as executive producer for the Detroit Performs Live annual concert event. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Laura supported the launch of Detroit PBS’s Michigan Learning Channel¸ a 24/7 statewide public television partnership offering instructional content to support the education of students and to provide alternative resources for families and teachers.

Laura was selected to participate in the 2021/2022 Public Media Women in Leadership CEO/COO Boot Camp focusing on leadership skills and the core verticals of public media. In 2015, she was named as University of Michigan-Dearborn Mentor of the Year for her contributions to the internship program. She is the recipient of 7 Michigan Association of Broadcast Awards.
