How one woman’s breast cancer diagnosis served as a call to action for Black women

Lisa Whitmore Davis is the founder and executive producer of a documentary titled “The Whitmore Project.” She explains how the film chronicles her personal health journey after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis. Now cancer-free, Davis reflects on her treatment and recovery, the challenges of working through health disparities, and the importance of knowing your family medical history.

Davis talks about how she hopes the film will help others, especially Black women, navigate through their health challenges. Davis also speaks about her four upcoming Health & Resource fairs where her documentary will be screened.
