• LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTES:  Christy talks with Bridge Magazine reporter Mike Wilkinson about his eye-opening investigative report on the widespread use of long-term substitute teachers in Michigan schools.
• THE SCHOOL AT MARYGROVE :  One Detroit is at The School at Marygrove with DPSCD Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti on opening day. It’s a new high school in the Detroit Public Schools Community District, focusing on engineering and social justice. Plus, Nolan and Stephen offer their thoughts on the vision for the school.
• EARLY LEARNING: A report from Detroit PBS’s early education Teach and Tell initiative focuses on a southwest Detroit teacher and how she engages her preschool class of bilingual students.
