Jul 28, 2021

After 79 years working for the Detroit Jewish News, 102-year-old Danny Raskin died earlier this week. For decades, Raskin’s columns gave people insight into what was happening within Detroit’s Jewish community. He had a column in every single issue of the Detroit Jewish News since it started in 1942.

He led a brilliant life and impacted countless people throughout Detroit.

In November 2020, One Detroit Senior Producer Bill Kubota brought us the incredible story of Raskin, a food columnist with the Detroit Jewish News. He talks about his longtime newspaper career and some of the stories he’s covered.
