Ribs R&B Festival / Video archive from CPT
More than 150,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Ribs R&B Music Festival at Hart Plaza from August 10 – 12. Festival Founder Johnnie Washington talks with Stephen about the many activities scheduled, including a rib and barbecue sauce cook-off, 30 musical acts, a Paradise Valley tribute, art on the river, an African Village, a business expo, ballroom dancing and much more. Plus, we’ll get a musical treat from one of the festival performers, Detroit jazz saxophonist Yancyy. Also, as we continue our celebration of American Black Journal’s 50th anniversary, we’ll reach back in the video archives for highlights from one of the earliest episodes in 1968 when the program was called “CPT.”
