ABJ/BridgeDetroit Town Hall: The American Rescue Plan: With an historic amount of federal aid, what do Detroiters want?

Join American Black Journal and BridgeDetroit for a virtual town hall on Wednesday, 11/17 at 12 p.m.

It’s been nearly four months since the City approved its plan to spend $826 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding, a historic amount of federal support that many hope will tackle some of Detroit’s toughest problems. Since that time, $53.6 million in contracts have been approved and a program to fix 1,000 roofs has been launched. American Black Journal and BridgeDetroit partnered to understand Detroiters priorities for the influx of federal dollars. Join Stephen Henderson as he moderates this important conversation.

Our guests include:
Louis Aguilar, Senior Reporter, BridgeDetroit
Mara Ostfeld, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science at the University of Michigan
Esmat Ishag-Osman, Research Associate, Citizens Research Council of Michigan
Phyllis Edwards, Executive Director, Bridging Communities
Edythe Ford, Director of Community Engagement, MACC Development

Register to attend the virtual town hall here and join us on the American Black Journal Facebook page on Wednesday, November 17th at 12:00pm ET.
