Apr 3, 2026

Seven-string guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli interprets classic songs with joy, reverence, technical prowess, elegance, and swing. Contributor Linda Yohn of 90.9 WRCJ spoke with Pizzarelli about following in his father’s musical footsteps, his new album, and his upcoming concert with Cabaret 313.

Pizzarelli describes growing up as the son of legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and his musical family, inspiration from the Nat King Cole trio, and the many recordings made over his career, including the new tribute session, “Dear Mr. Bennett,” honoring Tony Bennett.  He describes his current trio featuring pianist Isaiah J. Thompson and bassist Mike Karn, who will join him for his Cabaret 313 shows on Saturday, April 11, in The Cube at the DSO Fisher Music Center.  While the first set is sold out, seats are available for the 8:45 p.m. show.
