One Detroit Weekend: August 23, 2024
This weekend is all about good food and good tunes. Visit a variety of food events like the Taste of Greece Festival, the Novi Taco Fest and the Polish Festival. Then, find live music at the Ford House’s outdoor summer concert with the Michigan Philharmonic and at the Detroit Bourbon and Blues Festival in Eastern Market.

Upcoming Events:
- The 19th annual A Taste of Greece Festival takes place Aug. 22-25 at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Plymouth. The festival features Greek food, music and dancing.
- The Michigan Philharmonic presents “Car-Tunes!” Aug. 23 at the Ford House in Grosse Pointe. Attendees will hear music from Disney’s “Cars,” “Grease,” “Back to the Future,” “The Beach Boys” and “American in Paris.”
- The 50th annual Our Lady of the Scapular Polish Summer Festival takes place Aug. 23-24 at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Wyandotte. It features Polish food, music, dancing, a raffle and more.
- The Novi Taco Fest is being held Aug. 23-25 at Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk in Novi featuring more than 30 taco trucks, lucha libre wrestling, ballet folklorico, live music and more.
- The Michigan Made Festival takes place at Canterbury Village in Orion Township Aug. 24-25. It features Michigan crafters, food, brews and more. The event is also hosting a food drive to support the Village Food Pantry.
- The 12th annual Hug Detroit Day is being held at Black Heritage Park, formerly named Recovery Park, on Aug. 25. The event is focused on spreading love, fostering community spirit and supporting families in Detroit.
- The 2024 Genesee County Fair returns to the Everett A. Cummings Center in Mt. Morris through Aug. 25. It features a monster truck show, tractor pull, live entertainment, a rodeo and a demolition derby.
- The Detroit Bourbon and Blues Festival takes place at Eastern Market Shed 5 on Aug. 25. The festival includes immersive tasting experiences, blues performances and more.
