Are you looking for some arts, culture, music and family-friendly fun to experience in Southeast Michigan this weekend? From Detroit’s brewing history to Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” and the Motor City Blues Festival, metro Detroit has so much to offer on the weekend.

One Detroit contributor Dave Wagner of 90.9 WRCJ shares what’s happening around metro Detroit during the March 31 weekend and into next week on “One Detroit Weekend.” 

Upcoming Events:  

• Experience “A Night at the Esterhazy Palace” with the Valencia Bartyon Project, performing at 8 p.m. Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 in Bloomfield Hills and Ann Arbor respectively.  
• The Detroit Symphony Orchestra performs Stravinsky’s “Firebird” through Saturday, April 1 under Maestro Jader Bignamini. Violinist Anne Akiko Meyers joins the orchestra to perform “Fantango” by Arturo Márquez. 
• Jazz Pianist and guitarist Damon Terrell takes the Dirty Dog Jazz Café stage for two performances at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 1.  
• For those that love the Blues, the 15th annual Motor City Blues Festival brings artists King George, Calvin Richardson, Ronnie Bell and other legendary Blues performers to the Fox Theatre at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 1. 
• Organist Jame Kibbie continues his performances of the complete organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach at the University of Michigan at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2. 
• Check out Detroit’s beer history with the “Detroit’s Brewing Heritage” exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum. Attendees can learn about Detroit’s neighborhood breweries, beer drinking customs and more. 
• The Pontiac Little Art Theatre presents Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” at 8 p.m. through Saturday, April 1 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2 for a matinee performance.  
• Detroit bassist, cellist and composer Noah Jackson takes the stage at Cliff Bells with his group Noah Jackson & Full Circle for two performances at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5.
