One Detroit Weekend | Things to Do in Detroit this weekend: August 1, 2025

Southeast Michigan has something for everyone this weekend, including the Blue Water SandFest, Frankenmuth Flower Festival and the Belle Isle Art Fair. Plus, enjoy a night out under the stars in Commerce Township at the Rockin’ Under the Stars concert and check out the Sidewalk Festival in Detroit. And, there are plenty of other fun events around the region. 

Upcoming Events:  

  • Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour” comes to Pine Knob Music Theatre this evening with special guest Jake Wesley Rogers.
  • The 10th Sidewalk Festival takes place through August 2 at Eliza Howell Park in Detroit, highlighting creativity in outdoor and public spaces. The event features interactive installations, music, dance and community-centered workshops.
  • The Blue Water SandFest takes place at the Fort Gratiot Light Station County Park in Port Huron through August 3. The event includes free sand sculpting lessons, a kids’ sand box and music festival.
  • The Frankenmuth Flower Festival comes to Grandpa Tiny’s Farm through August 3, featuring dinner in the sunflowers, yoga in the sunflowers, craft vendors, food trucks and more.
  • The Dearborn Homecoming Festival returns to Ford Field Park through August 3 including live music from “The War and Treaty” and “Third Eye Blind,” cultural experiences for all-ages, fireworks, an artis district, carnival rides, food trucks, and more.
  • Arise Detroit! invites the community to the 19th Annual Neighborhoods Day taking place in multiple locations on August 2. A list of Neighborhoods Day events is available on their website.
  • Rockin’ Under the Stars returns to the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association in Commerce Township on August 2. This year’s event will have live music from two local acts, Dan Tillery Music and Magic Bus.
  • The Belle Isle Art Fair takes place at the Belle Isle State Park August 2-3, featuring over 100 artists ,hands-on art projects, live music, a beer tent, and more.
