One Detroit Weekend | Things to do around Detroit this weekend: July 11, 2025

Summer festivals are continuing around metro Detroit this weekend with the Uncle Sam Jam in Woodhaven and the Michigan Celtic Festival in Saline. And, check out some art at the Wyandotte Street Art Fair and Art in the Park in downtown Plymouth. 

Plus, spend time by the water at the Blue Water Festival during Port Huron’s Boat Week, as well as the Summer Beer and Wine Soirée on the Bay in Grosse Pointe Farms and the Yacht Rock Detroit party along the Detroit River. One Detroit contributor Cecelia Sharpe of 90.9 WRCJ shares what’s coming up around the region this weekend. 

Upcoming Events: 

  • The Uncle Sam Jam takes over Civic Center Park in Woodhaven through July 13, featuring carnival rides, food, live music, monster truck rides and fireworks.  
  • Art in the Park takes place in downtown Plymouth July 11-13. The event is one of Michigan’s largest juried art fairs, with hundreds of artists and creators displaying their work.  
  • The Michigan Celtic Festival comes to the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds in Saline July 11-12. The festival includes live music, dancing, highland games, and demonstrations in glassworks, ironworks and leathercraft. 
  • A Taste of Brighton Festival takes place in downtown Brighton July 11-12. The festival highlights local restaurants and retailers, as well as family-friendly activities. 
  • Yacht Rock Detroit takes place at Roostertail along the Detroit River July 11-12. Live entertainment includes Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm, a Fleetwood Mac cover band, DJ and more. 
  • The Wyandotte Street Art Fair takes place in downtown Wyandotte through July 12. As one of the longest-running art fairs in the region, the festival includes hundreds of artists, live music local food samples and more. 
  • The Blue Water Festival takes place during Port Huron Boat Week through July 12 in downtown Port Huron. It includes carnival rides, a street fair, live music, and more. The Bayview-Mackinac Yacht Race kicks off on July 12.
  • The Grosse Pointe Craft Beer, Wine & Food Festival presents the Summer Beer and Wine Soirée on the Bay at The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms on July 13. The event includes wine, beer and seltzer tastings as well as live music.
