There’s a diverse lineup of events coming to the Detroit area this weekend, including the African World Festival, Festa Italiana and Little Asian Bites: Mini Night Market Five. Plus, summer festivals continue with the Detroit Festival of Books, the Festival of Chariots and the Farmington Founders Festival. Upcoming Events:
- The Ann Arbor Art Fair takes place in downtown Ann Arbor through July 19. The fair is one of the largest outdoor art fairs in the nation with hundreds of artists displaying their work.
- The Flat Rock Summer Blast 2025 takes place at Flat Rock Community Park through July 19. The three-day event includes live entertainment, a basketball tournament, helicopter rides, a petting zoo and more.
- The Farmington Founders Festival takes place in downtown Farmington through July 19, featuring a 5K color run, parade, dog-friendly events, a crafters market, a beer tent and more.
- African World Festival, hosted by the Charles H. Wright Museum, returns to Hart Plaza in Detroit July 18-20. The festival features food, music, dance performances, educational programming and more.
- Festa Italiana takes over Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights July 18-20. The event includes wine tastings, live entertainment and plenty of pasta to go around.
- Little Asian Bites and the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy present Mini Night Market Five at the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard in Detroit on Saturday, July 19.
- The Detroit Festival of Books returns to Eastern Market on Sunday, July 20. The book festival features vintage books, author signings, a children’s book drive, a PBS Books booth and more.
- The 40th annual Festival of Chariots comes to the Novi Civic Center on Sunday, July 20. The festival features live music, dance performances, Henna tattooing, yoga sessions and more. The event is free to the public.
