One Detroit Weekend | Things to do around Detroit this weekend: July 25, 2025

Southeast Michigan has something for everyone this weekend, including the Fowlerville Family Fair, the Arab & Chaldean Festival and the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival. Plus, bring your four-legged friends to downtown Northville for Barks & Brews and take part in the Chinatown Block Party in Detroit. And, there are plenty of other fun events around the region. Contributor Peter Whorf of 90.9 WRCJ shares what’s coming up on “One Detroit Weekend.” 

Upcoming Events:  

  • The Fowlerville Family Fair takes place at the Fowlerville Fairgrounds through July 26. The fair includes a rodeo, carnival rides and classic fair food.  
  • The Sterlingfest Art and Music Fair comes to the Sterling Heights City Center through July 26, featuring visual artists, musicians, comedians, jugglers, food trucks and more. 
  • The Michigan Brewers Guild invites beer fans to the Summer Beer Festival at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti July 25-26. The festival offers hundreds of beers from breweries across the state. 
  • The Yale Bologna Festival takes place in downtown Yale July 25-27, featuring parades, a pageant and a bologna ring toss. 
  • The Chinatown Block Party takes place July 26 at the corner of Cass Avenue and Peterboro Street, the site of Detroit’s historic Chinatown. The event, organized by the Detroit Chinatown Vision Committee, features a book reading and signing with Curtis Chin, a film screening, Mahjong lessons, food, entertainment and more.  
  • Barks & Brews comes to downtown Northville on July 26. The pet-friendly event includes access to pet adoption services, free entertainment, premium pet retailers, refreshments and more. 
  • LGBT Detroit hosts the Hotter than July: Palmer Park Picnic on July 26 at Palmer Park in Detroit, featuring live music, dancing, local artists, wellness and health resources and more. 
  • The Arab & Chaldean Festival returns to Hart Plaza in Detroit July 26-27 to celebrate Middle Eastern culture with music, dancing, fashion and food.
