Metro Detroit has something for everyone this Labor Day weekend, including the Detroit Jazz Festival, the Michigan State Fair in Novi and the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival.
Plus, there’s more food and entertainment at the Detroit Sandwich Party and Arts, Beats and Eats in Royal Oak.

Upcoming Events:
- The Detroit Sandwich Party returns to Eastern Market Shed 5 on August 31, featuring offerings from sandwich makers all around the city.
- The Romeo Peach Festival takes place August 28-September 1 in various locations throughout Romeo and Washington. A schedule of events can be found on their website.
- The Michigan State Fair comes to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi August 28-September 1, featuring baking contests, livestock shows, live music and rides.
- The Detroit Jazz Festival returns to Hart Plaza and Campus Martius downtown and the Gretchen C. Valade Jazz Center in Midtown August 29-September 1, featuring dozens of performances and world-class talent.
- Arts, Beats and Eats comes to downtown Royal Oak August 29 – September 1 to celebrate art, music, food and community.
- Blake’s Sunflower Festival returns to Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill August 30-September 1 with U-Pick sunflowers, shops and scenic photo opportunities.
- The Hamtramck Labor Day Festival takes place on Joseph Campau Street August 30-September 1, featuring music, food and even wrestling.
- Dragon Forest, showcasing interactive sculptures and animatronics, wraps up at the Detroit Zoo on September 7.
