Celebrate the 313 with All Things Detroit Day coming up at Eastern Market. Detroit’s own Jack White performs at the Masonic Temple Theatre, and folk musician Ani DiFranco comes to the Royal Oak Music Theatre.  

The Michigan Makers 2nd Annual Spring Market will take place at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Plus, there’s the 2025 Songkran Festival night in Troy and more. One Detroit contributors Haley Taylor and Peter Whorf of 90.9 WRCJ share what’s happening around metro Detroit this weekend.  

Upcoming Events: 

  • Wayne State University presents “Emilia” April 11-19 at Hillberry Gateway. The play tells the story of a feminist poet who challenged the patriarchal norms of the Renaissance era. 
  • Detroit jazz icon Dr. Professor Leonard King performs multiple nights at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms through April 12 during Jazz Appreciation Month.  
  • The Michigan Makers 2nd Annual Spring Market takes place April 12 at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The market will feature Michigan artisans, crafters and small businesses. 
  • Folk musician Ani DiFranco comes to the Royal Oak Music Theatre on April 12 for a performance with special guest Wryn. DiFranco’s music is a mix of folk, rock and punk influences. 
  • The Laotian American Community of Michigan hosts the 2025 Songkran Festival Night on April 12 in Troy to celebrate the Thai and Lao New Year with food, music and live performances. 
  • Detroit’s own Jack White, the iconic rock ‘n roll musician, brings his “III” tour to the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit for two nights on April 12-13. 
  • The Flagstar Strand Theatre in Pontiac hosts “Many Stories, One Stage” on April 12-13, The gala event features a showcase of beloved Broadway musicals performed by the Pontiac Youth Theatre.  
  • All Things Detroit Day takes place at Eastern Market on April 13, featuring more than 250 Michigan and Detroit-based small businesses, artisans, food vendors, entertainers and more.
