Carmen Williams: Single Mom and COVID-19 Survivor

After Carmen Williams, a single mom in Southwest Detroit tested positive for COVID-19, doctors told her to go home and self-quarantine from her young kids all while living under the same roof.

Carmen talks with DPTV Education Manager, Tara Hardy, about what quarantine was like for her and her kids as well as the importance of having a parent network to stay connected to.

Yolanda Eddins, Director of Community and Parent Affairs at the New Paradigm for Education, is part of the network that supported Carmen while she was sick with COVID. She shares more about the resources that are available for parents during the pandemic.
